I always get emotional when our National Anthem is played. Plenty of Military people in our family, going back to the 1st World War. A Uncle who was in World War II, 2 Brother's, a Brother in Law who was more like a Big Brother to me, a Great Nephew and a Nephew in law. So many sacrifices that not only they made, but their families who were mostly State Side. I love the Red, White and Blue.

We were setting up our tent area and were pounding the stakes in the round. Quickly, ground wasps were chasing up all over. I'm very sensitive to bee stings, so I was running as my hubby (6'2' and 240 lbs) was also running. My M-I-Law got stung on her hand. I've heard that wasps remember faces and will come after you until the end! At our house, for over 20yrs we get large wasps in and outside, but they are lethargic, so we can stomp on them. When I water my plants, some little wasps come for the water and I can ignore them and I don't have an issue. I just need to find the squirrels and direct the stingy critters to go after them instead. I now have netting over my tomatoes, Basil, and my potatoes plants. My potatoes came up after we added our compost to the bottom of my garden beds which apparently contained potatoes! They keep growing every year and last week the squirrels ate the tater leaves and tried to beaver my maters, but I netted the other half of the maters and they survived. The Basil and catnip is supposed to deter the mater worms and other eating critters, but somebody chewed on onr of the Basil plants. My catnip is growing profusely, so my kitties are happy with fresh and dried nip!

Hopefully the smell of the keets will be recognizable to Herc as friend. Fingers crossed.
